Submit your short film

We are temporarily not accepting submissions.

We run regular events to showcase upcoming filmmakers’ work. Our events are accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing people and all films we screen are captioned. When submitting your film, you will need to provide captions or a transcript / script. If you’d like to add captions to your films but aren’t sure what you need to include, you can check out our captions guide.

Please read our guidelines below before submitting. If your film does not meet our guidelines, it will be disqualified. Filmmakers must own or control copyright for all their work.

Guidelines

What kind of films can I submit?
Your film can be of any genre. Films should be under 20 minutes and must be provided with English captions or an accurate transcript / script.

How do I submit my entry?
Submit your film via the form on this page. You will need to provide the video file through a downloadable link (e.g. WeTransfer, Dropbox, Vimeo, Google Drive). If your link is password-protected, please provide the password in the ‘What is your film about?’ box.

Should I provide SRT files or burned-in captions?
We prefer SRT files as this will allow us to make sure the captions are up to our standards. You may submit a burned-in version but if your film is selected, you will also need to send us a version without captions.

My film doesn’t have captions. Can I still submit it?
Yes, but you must also send an accurate transcript or script. Some of our judges are deaf or hard-of-hearing, so we cannot accept films without captions or scripts.

My film has no dialogue. Can I submit it without captions?
Yes, but sounds that are not visible to the eye will still need to be captioned / scripted.

My film is not in English, can I submit it?
Yes, just make sure English subtitles are available.

How many times can I submit my film?
You only need to submit once - we keep a record of all films sent to us.

Can I submit a film that is already online or has been previously screened elsewhere?
Absolutely.

Can I enter more than one film?
You may enter as many films as you like.

Is The Film Bunch open internationally?
Yes, our events are based in London, UK but we welcome entries from all over the world.
