DIY Short Films & Networking

  • St. Margaret's House 21 Old Ford Rd Bethnal Green London, E2 9PL (map)

We showcase short films from upcoming filmmakers from around the world. Our mission is to improve access for deaf and hard-of-hearing people to mainstream short films, so we provide English captions and BSL interpreters.

This September, we're presenting short films made with low-tech / disposable media such as phones, tablets, webcams, action / helmet cameras, CCTV and more!

Have a look at our open call if you're interested in submitting your film (can be an existing film or you can make a new one). Films can be up to 5 minutes and it's free to submit. Deadline is Monday 10th September at noon.

We'll kick off with networking at 6:30pm, films and Q&As will start at approximately 7pm, and then we'll wrap up with networking so you can meet more awesome folks!

Tickets are only £3. We recommend booking online to save your space. Alternatively, you can pay on the door but entry will depend on space and priority will be given to those with tickets. No one turned away for lack of funds - please email us in advance if you would like to attend but funds are a barrier.

A great opportunity to check out new talent and find collaborators. Open to everyone, come join us for a great evening! Event is 18+.

How to get there: Nearest station is Bethnal Green. We are in The Hall (behind the Gallery Cafe). The venue is wheelchair accessible.

Special thanks to St. Margaret's House for hosting this with us.
