Wow! Our launch event last night was a full house! Thank you to everyone who came, we hope you had a great time. A massive thank you to our volunteers, you’re all amazing.
We screened an eclectic mix of short films, enjoyed some nibbles and listened to the filmmakers’ experiences. Thanks to A D Cooper (Ace), Ben Sayers (In the Shadow of the Mountain) and Lukas Revzin (Message from Abdullah) for taking part in the Q&A. More details about the films we screened last night will be on our blog soon.
As our events are deaf and hard-of-hearing friendly, we aim to increase awareness of using subtitles in short films and hope last night’s event will encourage filmmakers to add subtitles to their films.
Due to a last-minute change in the contract, we were unable to provide a bar and toilets in the venue were unaccessible. We will be moving to a bigger venue (with toilets!) for our future events.
Thanks to all who filled in our feedback survey yesterday. If you didn’t get a chance to complete the survey, please spare a couple of minutes to fill it out online. We need you to help us grow and improve our events.
It was lovely to see some old faces and meet new fantastic people. More photos will be up soon. If you couldn’t make it yesterday, don’t worry, we’ll be having another event soon!
If you want to find out more about us or want to get involved, drop us a message. This has been an incredible experience, we hope to see you all at the next one!
